In this paper the reader will get the chance to discuss an individual that works for the Department of Social Services. The paper will discuss an interview that will be taken from the individual from the writer of the paper to discuss her job duties and what can come from all of the pressure. The paper will explain what the difference between a burnout and compassion fatigue when it comes to a job. The paper will also identify the signs and key indicators of burnout and explain the stages that a burnout that contain. The lady being interviewed throughout the paper will also discuss a type of burnout that she has experienced at some time through-out her career.
The interview that is conducted for this paper is taken from a lady named Gina Carithers that works for the Department of Social Services. The job duties that Gina is qualified to do is to go out to individuals homes that have been alleged of drug use, alcohol use, or some type of abuse in the home and to check it out to see if the allegations are true and if they are with children in the home then Gina would remove the children so they will be out of the immediate danger until the parents can provide a safer environment for the children. Gina then takes the children to be placed in foster care or some type of housing in a safer environment until long term arrangements can be made. In this interview there were many different questions asked on how she feels when she has to take the children out of the home listening to the children crying as well as the parents. Gina states that it can be overwhelming at times due to the circumstances of the case at times it also stresses her out a lot but she tries to keep moving so she can continue to help children get out of bad situations and into a safer environment....
