Career Advancement - Graduate Degree

My interest in a career advance by means of studying a graduate program is arising in me since I was a child studying in a public school in a little town, almost without reachable opportunities to do something really meaningful for my family, my town, and my country. But I knew that, through education and with a lot of effort I was going to be able do all what I envisioned. So, when I was 16 years old, I left my family and I moved into the city to get bachelor degree in Environmental Engineering . It was not easy, but I accomplished my goal, although it implied sacrifices, for me and for my family.
While I was studying, I had the opportunity of working for the University to obtain a discount in the tuition payments. This gave me the chance to meet the professor who has been advising me since then, and with whom I am currently working. At that time I started to develop my abilities and skills for working on research projects and ever since my aim has been to understand, analyze, and share biodiversity, and the environmental functions and their relationships with the local, regional, and national sustainable development. I participated voluntarily in a Biodiversity Study Group, besides the university academic activities. And accordingly with my interests, I have also completed two certificated programs, in protected areas and strategic zones for conservation, and in urban forestry, as well as short courses regarding landscape design for urban projects; urban trees; and Geographic Information Systems (GIS), among others.
I consider that being an Environmental Engineer have gave me the ability to carry out interdisciplinary works, capacity for synthesis, analysis, and organization, high sense of responsibility and commitment, skill for the scientific and technical research.
