Abstract
This paper discusses the management careers in the lodging, and food and beverage industry. It describes the different types of management careers that are offered in each industry. This paper describes the General Manager position in each industry. This paper ends with the overall growth of employment between the two industries over the next couple of years.

Management Careers
The hospitality industry has a lot of jobs. The management careers that can be offered within the lodging industry are Hotel Manager, Front Office Manager, and Guest Services Manager. The management careers in the Food and Beverage Industry include Restaurant Manager, Kitchen Manager, Chef, and Bar/Club Manager.
The Hotel Manager is responsible for how the operations of the hotel can be efficient and the most profitable. Their responsibilities are maintain the budget, recruiting, training and supervising staff, handling any guest complaints, and making sure everything is in compliance with the health and safety legislation (Types of Positions at Hotels, n.d.).
The Front Desk Manager is responsible for supervising the front desk clerks. Their main responsibility is making sure that every guest is greeted warmly and the check-in is smooth. They are also responsible for scheduling workers to make sure that someone will be at the front desk to help guests at any time of the day or night (Types of Positions at Hotels, n.d.).
The Guest Services Manager manages all the client experience. The manager organizes the check-in process so that when the guest arrives, the staff will be waiting for the guest; resolves guest problems and comes up with programs for special services (Kokemuller, n.d.).
The General Manager in the lodging industry is in charge of everything that goes on at the hotel....
