Essay: My hometown introduction
I introduce my hometown to you. I live in Kumamoto in Japan. Kumamoto is part of the Kyushu district. Kumamoto is a very good place. There is fresh air, clean water, and very beautiful nature. Kumamoto has good place. Do you know Mt. Aso? It is famous as the biggest volcano in Japan. Mt. Aso has very big caldera too.
I have lived in Ozu town since I was a child, so my hometown is Ozu town. Ozu town lies to the east of Kumamoto. My hometown has some good points. First, Ozu town is a very beautiful town, and there is lot of flowers during the spring season. We can see many beautiful Azaleas in my town. I think that Shouwa park is very big park, and famous for beautiful Azaleas in my town. The Shouwa park is located near my house, so I sometimes go to there. The azalea is designated as Ozu town’s flower. In the spring, we can enjoy the festival, and the festival’s name is the Azalea festival. It is very fun.
Second, Ozu town is very useful town, Ozu town is a little small, but Ozu town has a shopping mall and some supermarkets, so I usually go to shopping with my mother or my friends, and Ozu town is very near to Aso. Aso is famous for sightseeing in Kumamoto. I often go to Aso on a holiday. I like to drive to Aso. It takes about 30 minutes from Ozu town by car.
Finally, Ozu town is famous for sweet potatoes. My hometown’s sweet potato is very delicious and very sweet. We called it Karaimo in Kumamoto. My grandfather and grandmother lives in Ozu town and they are farmer. They grow sweet potatoes in their very large fields, so I help them when they harvest sweet potato every year, because I can eat baked sweet potato if I help them. I like it very much. I like my hometown very much.
