Types of Software
Computers need several kind of software that control the functioning of their hardware and some of them are created according your needs. Therefore, I have classified three kind of software in their categories.
The most important category is the O.S (Operating System) because the O.S acts as an intermediary between application programs and the computer hardware. Approximately 80% of the world population use Windows OS and the most recently released is Windows 7. On windows O.S runs the majority of software; therefore, it is the very susceptible to hackers and sometimes too much unstable so then, you may able to lost information. A 10% of the people use MAC OS because the software and hardware to use on this operating system is more expensive than Windows. Mac O.S is usually used for designing and browsing online because is very secure against hackers or virus. The most recently Mac OS is Leopard so, if you want to buy a one, visit www.apple.com. Because you can get it for free online, Linux O.S is the less common O.S that 5% of the people use. There are many Linux OS such Ubuntu, Fedora, and Gentoo. Besides, this is very secure because it doesn’t need antivirus so, you may not worry about hackers, virus and loss of information due to its stability. In addition, all softwares that run on Linux OS are for free.
Security Software is the second category that protects your computer. One of them is the Antivirus what is used to prevent, detect, and remove computer viruses, worms, and Trojan horses. It may also prevent and remove adware, spyware, and other forms of malware. According to my experience, the most effective antivirus is Eset Smart Security 4 because it works with a low consumption of system resources so, your computer runs faster than if you use other as Symantec or MacAfee.
