Causes and Effects of Global Warming
Global warming is mainly a crisis of a lot of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere. This acts like a blanket, trapping high temperature and warming the earth. For so many decades, scientists have spent trying to figure out the cause of global warming. They have tried to look at the events and natural cycles that are recognized in the influence climate. The pattern and the amount of warming that has been measured cannot be explained with these factors only. To bring together all this information, the United Nations created a set of scientists called the IPCC OR Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. Global warming has many effects and one of them is the rise in sea level worldwide. The heat-trapping gases produced due to various human activities go into the atmosphere. The emissions cause a rise in earth temperature. This causes the ocean to absorb about eighty percent of this extra heat. The rise in the levels of the sea is associated with three major factors like. These are like thermal expansion; this happens when water gets heated up, it expands. Half of the previous decades rise in sea height is attributed to warm oceans simply occupying most of the space. Secondly, the melting of ice caps and glaciers; persistent high temperatures brought about by global warming has led to larger summer melting with diminishing snowfall leading to earlier springs and longer springs. This results to a major total gain in runoff against evaporation in the ocean, causing rise in sea level. Lastly, the ice loss from west Antarctica and Greenland; the high sea temperatures cause the very big ice shelves, which expand out from the Antarctica to melt starting from below.
