What are the causes of stress in Michael’s or Jennifer’s life? How is stress affecting Michael’s or Jennifer’s health?
The fact that Jennifer is married and has been trying to start a family could be affecting the stress in her life she is experiencing the stress of daily hassels as well as depression. This is a lot of things that one person has to deal with so she is feeling overwhelmed and bogged down with work which is causing her to get headaches, anxiety, worry and possibly miscarry her children. Because she is dealing with a lot of things right now she could be experiencing anxiety and it could be the cause of her headaches and could be the result of her not being able to carry a baby right now. The fact that she is depended on at work is also a result of her worrying about her work getting done in a timely fashion and to add to that her father does not want to be placed in a nursing home, but he is sick and she is unable to take care of him they way he needs to be taken care of. She is a very independent person.
How are these stressors affecting Michael’s or Jennifer’s self-concept and self-esteem?
Because Jennifer is dealing with all of these issues, she could be feeling as if she is alone and has not one to turn to. Here self esteem and self concept has been lowered because of these stressors. Because she may have to put her father in a nursing home against his will and her in laws pressure to have a baby can be causing her self concept to be low. The fact that she is a dependable person at work can be lowering her self esteem as she feels she is not working to her full potential. She is not used to letting people down such as her family, friends and or co workers so she could be taking this very hard and is causing her own self esteem to be lowered as a result.
