Causes of the Holocaust Hitler is remembered as one of the cruellest people in world history, known for being behind some of the most atrocious acts of violence done to humans. He was the head of the government, a very smart and charming man that could make people do almost anything he wanted them to do with his phenomenal rhetoric skills, which helped him come into power and give the Germans the impression that he was perfect, and that they were destined to be also. Adolf Hitler wasn’t always full of anti-Semitism, though. When he moved to Vienna to become a famous artist, he was asphyxiated by anti-Semitic literature and propaganda. The whole time he was in Vienna, his views were slowly changing because of the stuff being put into his mind. When he left Vienna, he despised the Jews greatly since he was basically brainwashed at this time. This is probably the main reason why he used the Jews as scapegoats to blame Germany’s defeat in World War one on them and to blame all of Germany’s other problems on them, like the depression. In World War One, everyone thought it was going to be full of excitement and adventure, and would only last a couple of weeks. But, once the war had actually started, people got sick of it very quickly. For soldiers, the conditions in the trenches and seeing all of their friends and family being shot down right in front of their eyes was horrible. Back at home, families were without a dad, a brother, an uncle, or a grandfather for months, only to find out that he had died fighting for his country. Nobody wanted to go to war again, and Hitler just used this as an advantage. When he was taking over different countries, no one stopped him because they didn’t want war. Hitler saw this and kept taking over more countries until he got to Poland, which was when Britain had to fight back and declare war. The end of the war was a great victory for our side.
