Cell Phones Have a Negative Influence
Millions of people have cell phones, and talk on them constantly. Everywhere in the United States there is always someone talking or text messaging on a phone. There are sundry of times that these actions are being done while driving an automobile. The United States already has way too many car accidents, but with people talking on phones while driving just becomes more of a hazard. Cell phones cause car accidents, they are disruptive in classrooms, and teenagers tend to spend less time with family.
Cell phones have been banned in most states because they are one of the biggest leaders in car accidents. When people talk on the phone they are not focused on the road. Their mind is trying to think about what the other person said instead of watching what other vehicles are doing. Another problem is when people (teenagers) try to text message when behind the wheel of a car. Every couple of seconds they will look up at the road to see what it happening, but a couple of seconds could make the difference between life or death. Also, if a driver of a motor vehicle is talking on the phone, and drops the phone in the floor they franticly reach down and grab it. This is very unsafe for them, and other drivers on the road.
When a cell phone goes off in a classroom, it takes the attention away from what other students are doing instead of them focusing on their work. This happens everyday in classrooms, and each time it does someone falls behind because their focus is lost. It is very important to be fully concentrated on what the teacher is saying during a lecture, but a simple beep could take all that concentration away from the students. Testing requires a very quiet environment for most students, and each student deserves this quietness so they can make a good grade on the test. Some test are timed, and for some students they need all of the time allowed to take the test, but when a student hears someone else’s cell phone go...
