For this assignment as a class we discussed the age range to be used this is the 2 '' 6 age range. I intend to cover within this assignment the physical care of the child, anti- discriminatory practice, and policy and procedures to ensure good practice within a child care setting.

The stages of physical development of children aged between two and six years old which I am focusing on are as follows: -
2 years
Fine Manipulative skills
[pic] Uses a spoon to feed independently.
[pic] Is able to zip and unzip large zippers.
[pic] Place five rings on a stick.
[pic] Puts on their shoes.
[pic] Can draw circles and dots.
[pic] Builds a tower of five to six bricks.
[pic] Begins to use a preferred hand.
Gross Manipulative skills
[pic] Kicks a ball that is not moving.
[pic] Is able to climb on furniture.
[pic] Puts together and pulls apart toys that snap together.
[pic] Can walk up and down the stair confidently.
3 Years
Fine Manipulative skills
[pic] Turns pages in a book one by one.
[pic] Holds a crayon and can draw a face.
[pic] Uses a spoon without spilling.
[pic] Washes and dries hands with help.
[pic] Puts on and takes off coat.
Gross Manipulative skills
[pic] Walk and run forwards.
[pic] Walk on tiptoes.
[pic] Throws a large ball.
[pic] Kick a ball forward.
[pic] Jump from steps, which are of low in height.
