It was a beautiful Monday morning. The sky was dotted with fluffy magnolia clouds. The earth was bathed on a warm rosy glow. The chill wind was blowing gently.

It was six o’clock and Tom’s alarm went on, “Tringgg……”. He switched off the alarm and dozed off again. After a while, he felt someone shaking him. It was his mother. “Wake up, you sleepyhead!” his mother yelled. Tom caught a glimpse of the alarm. It was fifteen minutes to seven o’clock. Tom immediately jumped out of the bed and ran to the toilet. After brushing teeth, he took a quick shower and ran towards the school uniform and bag. The word “late” ricocheted in his mind. “As usual, I am late again! Tom groaned.

The millions of thoughts were racing through his mind. He jolted towards the bus. Unfortunately, at that moment, the bus left. He tried calling out for the bus but in vain. He had no choice but to wait for the next bus. Finally, after a while, the next bus arrived. He boarded the bus and sat. With fear in mind, his legs were quivering like jelly. He was trembling like a leaf as the bus was getting closer to the school. After seemed like ages, the vehicle stopped right in front of the school, where he was to meet doom. He walked along the corridor of the school campus with quick footed steps, hoping not to bump into the fearful and infamous principal, Mr. Qor. All of a sudden, to his dismay, he caught sight of whom he feared the most at that moment. His heart stopped and so did he in his track. He squirmed under Mr. Qor’s glowering stare, unable to even dare to look up. He hung his head, prepared to face the ill-fate. Surprisingly, the principal spoke to him in a calm and soft tone, “Tom, you need help, let me help you” as he led Tom to the office. In the office, Mr. Qor explained the importance of the punctuality in an impressive manner. Tom understood the message and promised silently in his heart to turn over a new leaf.
