Cheaper Not Necessarily a Bargain

When I was living in a rental facility, I always dream of having my own house, but somehow it was hard to come up with the down payment for it. Suddenly one day I stumbled to what seemed to be a very good deal on a property for sell, it was a real bargain price for the neighborhood where it was located and with a very low down payment. I managed to come up with the down payment and I hurried to close the deal on the mentioned house. Then, my dream turned into a nightmare. The so long dreamed house has given me nothing but problems from the day I moved in. I have had to deal with all sorts of new expenses, the overdue house maintenance problems, and inconsiderate neighbors.

First of all, I have had to deal with all these expenses, which are new to me. For one there were the property municipal taxes, which they happened to be really hefty due to the neighborhood and house location. Then, there was the school tax; the one I had to pay even though I do not had any school children age. Along with these taxes, there was the garbage collection monthly fee, as well as my new house insurance monthly payment.

I have had to deal not only with my new acquired expenses but also with the overdue house maintenance problems. For one thing, the basement was always humid and hard to heat up. The basement was not only humid and cold but it was flooded every time it rain. Sometimes the overwhelming quantity of water made the room to look like a private indoor swimming pool. A contractor discovered that the flood was caused by a crack on the house foundation. Then, there were the windows; they were old and poorly insulated, because of this they always had water condensation on the glass and on the bottom of the window frame. This condensed water later became frozen on the glass surface cutting off the outside view, and also damaging the bottom part of the window frame.
