Chelation therapy usually consists of slow-drip IV injections of EDTA(ethyienediaminetetracetic acid), a synthetic amino acid combined with aerohic exercise, special diet, and no smoking. EDTA treatment has been around since the 1940s, when it was developed to treat lead poisoning. The word chelate is derived fromm the Greek word claw and refers to the alleged removal of plague and calcium deposits from arteries and veins by EDTA. Advocates claim that there is ample evidence to support the claim that EDTA can prevent and cure heart disease, stroke, senility, diabetic gangrene, and many other vascular diseases.Chelation can also help save people with autism. After letting the hard boiled eggs sit in each solution for one night the effects on the eggs were obvious. The baking soda, or the base in the group, had no effect on the egg. The hydrogen peroxide, or the neutral solution, also had no effect on the egg. However, the vinegar, or the acid, created bubble and ate away the calcium of the egg. The EDTA created bubbles just as the vinegar did, but did not dissolve the calcium of the egg. It did however covered the egg with a layer of felm.

With this information we can conclude that both acidic solutions effected the egg. Where as the non-acidic solutions had no effect. Also, because the non-acidic solutions had no effect on the egg, the acidic solution obviously broke down the calcium of the eggs quicker. When conducting this experiment, one must first hard boil four eggs. Next you will want to obtain four beakers, each filled with one of these solutions; EDTA, hydrogen peroxide, baking soda, and vinegar. Then you would need to place one hardboiled egg in each solution. Leave the egg sit in the solution over night. The next day observe and record any differences reguarding the four hardboiled eggs.
