One of the things that make democracy successful in comparison to other forms of government is separation of church and state. In this country, however, that is not the case 100 percent of the time, our political process, especially in the last 7 years, has become utterly contaminated with religion. Evangelical Christianity in the United States has ascended to the highest ranks of power in the Bush Administration, where conservative social values, drawn from, and justified by the bible are imposed upon people every day.
