Club IT is a music venue that is owned and managed by two musicians with business degrees, Ruben Keys and Lisa Tejada. This essay will discuss Club IT’s mission statement and clientele, how they use their information resources, the functionality of their organizational information systems, and discuss a strategy that would aid in accomplishing their mission to serve their clients.
Club IT’s mission statement is, “We, Ruben and Lisa, offer you live music, DJ's, dance space and refreshments that suit your lifestyle. You are our friends, and we seek to build a community that meets regularly at Club IT" (Rainer & Turban, 2009). The club is designed to target a very wide variety of client, everything from single young urban professionals, adult students, to married couples hoping to maintain a romantic flair; in short Club IT hopes to target all the diversity in an entire community. By adjusting the entertainment through a wide scale of variety, Club IT hopes to connect with music lovers of all different genres. By providing a high energy fun club with food and entertainment, Club IT hopes that the clientele will become regulars and return.
Club IT’s information resources are encapsulated through the seven working functional areas of their website. The company’s entire infrastructure is set up through the working dynamics of its Intranet, accessed through the company’s website. While the structure is thought out, the overall appearance and functionality of these areas can be improved due to its elementary first impression. The seven functional areas presented on the home page of the Club IT website start with “About Club IT” which is a general history or informational page that greats the client with a brief synopsis of Club IT’s origins.
