Do you think that it is fair for college athletes to profit off their talents? I think that they should be able to make money on their own. I think that is unfair the way that they get disrespected and taken advantage of when it comes to paying their athletes and they should not get away with it any longer. I think Thant most collages and the NCAA don’t care about them , they want to do is make there money no questions asked. They don’t want you to make money without them getting there cut. You can face very unfair punishment for violating the rule like getting suspended on having to siting out some game or even a whole season even if the crime does not fit the punishment. Even a college superstar like Chis Webber wasn’t happy about how his image was being used and the rules that don’t allow them to make money. The situation bothered him so much that he left the University of Michigan for the NBA because he wanted to get paid. That’s one example of a player tired of the crazy rules that the NCAA uses to hold them back but there are lots of different examples of it. To put it simply, the NCAA rules prevent college athletes from being paid in any way connected with their sport other than a limited athletic scholarship. They cannot even accept textbooks, a bag of groceries or a trip home to see their parents. Nor are they allowed to access the free market for their own promotional and marketing deals. On December 22, 2010, the NCAA announced that five players would be suspended for the first five games of the 2011 season due to receiving improper benefits.
