Cost accounting analysis for Exxon Mobil Axia College, University of Phoenix Exxon Mobil as a large oil company has many concerns that can impact the entire corporation. For instance they have to worry about spillage into the nations waters while transporting oil to different locations. When a spill happens the effects can be devastatingnot only to the land, but to wildlife and humans as well. The Exxon spill in Prince William Sound, Alaska 1989has left the residents and the landscape with long term affects. According to Becky Clausen (2005) there is still oil seeping onto the shores in Alaska. There are side effects that the residents and the previous cleanup crew have to deal with. Some of the effects reported are upper respiratory infections, central nervous system disorders, kidney, liver, and blood disorders, along with acute skin disorders are just some of the affects. Since this incident Exxon Mobil is not allowed into Prince William Sound, Alaska. The oil tankers are escorted by boats into the sea from another route. This paper outlines the beginning of Exxon Mobil to the present. Exxon Mobil has faced many hardships and has done what they could to possibly overcome these. From the oil spills to the research that is currently being done to improve the fuel emissions to help decrease the ill effects to the environment. They are facing lawsuits that are trying to stop Exxon Mobil from providing the world the crude oil that is demanded because of the mistakes and accidents that have happened in the past that they are still trying to rectify in order to make everyone satisfied. Exxon Mobil needs to keep in mind that the way the economy is today that the prices need to stay within a range that is affordable to everyone.
