Country music hits home with so many people because it speaks of how people feel or what they are going through. I believe that country music can relate to many different feelings and emotions. Some are happy and some are sad, just to name two. There are so many country songs that have touched my heart and that I can relate to. I have listened to country since I was a young teen.
I remember my father would listen to country music. I never knew why, so I asked him why he liked it. This is when my father actually sat down with me and became very deep. He told me, “Listen to the music neither with your mind, nor your ears, but with your heart.” So I did, and I have listened to country music ever since.
There is a song that was put out in the world of country music that really hits home to my heart. The song I am speaking about was sung by Allen Jackson, the title is, where were you. This speaks about the invasion on America, and the plane that crashed into the twin towers. When I saw the towers fall, my unit was set on high alert; my unit was ready and willing to be sent to New York to help out. To this day, hearing that song still touches my heart.
In conclusion, country music uses many different emotions to speak to people. It also uses many of life’s everyday things, which happen to everyday people, to send a message that we are not the only people that go through these things. Everyone goes through these things, no matter what you do or where you come from.
