Introduction
In this final essay we were given 11 policies and 9 theories. We were asked to choose at least 3 of these policies and discuss their purpose. We were also asked to match the 3 that was chosen with the theory that had a influence each policy. The three that was chosen was; Expunging of records, Neighborhood watch program, and three strikes laws. We will research each of these policies to help the reader to understand them and why the theory influence each policy.

Expunging of Record
What is expunging? Expunging is the removal or isolation of records that is file within the criminal or juvenile justice system. Individuals who want to change their lives and want to be able to remove a criminal act off of their record. They must go through the process of having convection expunged. Doing this would help a person be able to do the following;
*Getting a job: most application ask you if you ever been convicted. This could cause a person not to be able to get a job. By expunging having their record expunged will enable you to answer the question truthfully “no”.
* Getting a loan: There are some loan companies that ask on their application if people have been convicted. By answering yes they would think you are a high risk of not paying you loan. And if they approve the loan would have an interest rate or they just might not approve the loan at all.
* Adoption: Some people want to be able to adopt a child. Have a record can prevent people from doing so. There are at least 15 states that make it illegal for someone to adopt a child with a record (Cleanupmyrecord, n. d.).
* Peace of mind: There is a lot of other reason that would help people when they expunge their records, such as: education, housing, licensing, etc. But the most important thing is a peace of mind. A peace of mind is a great thing when people...
