Current Business Research Project Paper
This paper will deals with the ongoing research into global warming as presented in the February 2008 edition of Scientific America magazine. This author believes this to be an important topic in current economic, physical and social environments because global warming is seen as significantly impacting global geophysical structures in various areas of the world. Climate control is seen as a real concern for a number of scientists, organizations, and governments at large as it can affect populations, natural resources, and subsequently economies at large. The Scientific American magazine study reviewed here is part of a larger special report on climate change, and the research being discussed in this paper is mainly scientific in nature. It is the author’s intent to highlight important data from the research as well as review the researcher’s findings in relation to current and future economic impacts.
The purpose of the research reviewed was to find out if global warming was affecting water levels around the globe, specifically in the Antarctic region, and if rising earth temperatures were adversely affecting these regions of the globe. The person conducting the research wants to assess how great is the extent of the environmental change occurring and what impacts or implications can be found.
The research conducted in the Antarctic was mainly focused on determining if the water beneath the Antarctic were sufficiently warming to the extent that they could affect or even cause the break up of the large piece of ice found in that region. This in effect would help determine if global warming was indeed affecting even the southern-most region of the globe in a negative manner.
In reviewing the article, this author found a number of factors interesting to note. One of the problems this research was trying to investigate was whether global...
