CHECK BRIDGE ALIGNMENT.
Check lubrication;
- Oil level in drive gear motor
Primary reducer gearbox;
Secondary reducer gearbox;
CHECK BRIDGE
Bridge support wheels bearings (8 per bridge);
- Cog wheels shaft bearings (4 per bridge);
- Shaft gear coupling

PREFORM BRIDGE ALIGNMENT.
Material required:
Four (4) Hardwood wedges - 2" wide;
- One (1) Straight edge, 12 ft. long (1 W' aluminum angle);
- One (1) Laser beam level;
- Two (2) Targets about 1 ft. square - free standing.
A. Position bridge at basin mid length;
B. Check if it is square to the rails:
¿ Nearly square - OK;
¿ More than 1 inch off - loosen bolt of keyless TSUBAKI shaft coupling
(See drive schematic - annex A);
¿ Block double flanged wheel with wedges on rail;
¿ Move opposite end of bridge with drive shaft slipping in loose
coupling;
¿ When bridge is square, block flat wheel with wedges on rail.
C. Check double flanged wheels:
¿ Parallel to each other 7. Straight edge contact the 4 rims, if not,
loosen bolts of pillow block, slide pillow block in bolting slot;
¿ Parallel to rail 7;
¿ Place targets at both ends of rail centered about 6" off rail centerline
on the outside of basin;
¿ Straight edge on face of wheels, laser beam level on straight edge,mark targets ahead and back;

¿ Measure distance of target mark to rail centerline at both ends d2 and
d3 on bridge alignment sketch);
¿ Measures d2 & d3 equal ± W', tighten TSUBAKI coupling bolts;
¿ d2 & d3 very different (example d2 = 2", d3 = 8") unblock flat wheel,
with crowbar on rail, roll end of bridge to bring both
readings @ 2" + 8" = 5";
2
¿ Block flat wheel.
¿ Tighten TSUBAKI coupling bolts.
D. Check flat wheels
¿ Parallel to rail;
¿ Place straight edge on wheel external faces, one wheel at a time and
targets at both rail ends;

Check if distance from target laser beam point to rail centerline is
same in front and back. If not, adjust by moving one pillow block in its
bolting slots;
¿ Repeat...
