The death sentence is one of the most debatable topics of all time. It is not about loss some money or others that can be replace, but it is all about person’s life. That can not be replaced by anything else. The first thing comes out from my mind when I hear about death penalty is inhumane. There are some evidences that someone who was innocent had to be killed. Also, people that did not do anything wrong had to die. It is obviously not fair and definitely cruel. From Universal Declaration of Human Rights proclaims that all human beings have their own right to live.
According to death penalty info org from 949 people executed since 1968 our justice system has put to death roughly 750 people with compelling evidence of innocence (http://media.www.thecurrentonline.com/media/storange/paper 304/news/2005/02/21/the-death penalty is Inhumanity-871732.shtml). Can you imagine how many innocent people have to die? This fact shows that death penalty is not always being right and fair. The following example: There is one person who was convicted of murdering a 3 year-old girl. In fact, he did not kill her; he actually wanted to save her from a man who was trying to kill her. Unfortunately he was accused of slaying and being arrested by police. Tragically he was sentence to dead. From this story, we can conclude that the judicial system is not perfect yet, since it was imperfectly customized by human being. Once more we can see why death penalty is inhumane. A person deserved to be heavily punished. Let’s say a person murdered our sibling, as a family member we might want to revenge or even directly kill the murderer it self. By law, we can not do that, because if we commit murder we would become as same level as the killer and not appreciate the human rights at all.
In conclusion, we can easily see from these few examples the death penalty was inhumane and ineffective. For instance, executions in Vietnam are carried out by firing squad of five people often in public,...
