A lunch date with Nelson Mandela
The person I would like to have lunch with is not only a popular person but also a person I see as an icon or a role model. I am passionate about several things including engineering technology ideas, charity work, motivational speaking and football and the person I would be meeting has to have at least two things amongst his interest. His positive view of life would be my motivating factor to meet him and get to know more about him. (Amanda H, n.d.)
I would choose Nelson Mandela. His determination to see liberation of his people and preaching peace makes him outstanding. He has a strong personality of sacrificing, uniting, forgiving and dedication. This is what I would want to emulate from the talisman. On this day of having lunch with him, I would take the chance to lend an ear to the wise man. I would talk specifically on what he feels about what he went through spending 27 years in prison, and if it pleases him when he sees the fruits of his sacrifice not going to waste.
I would take the chance to ask for some advice relating to how I could influence my country positively towards peace. Since my country, Kenya faced some post-election violence in 2007; we would talk about this, and I would ask for his general view about the dark moments that faced the country. Mainly I would ask for what he thinks my role should be in trying to steer the country forward and above all restore peace amongst the citizens. We would talk about improving Africa as a continent. Mainly about the economy and what he expects the world to be in the next 100 years. I would also want to know his future ambitions and plans as an individual. This would complete a perfect moment with my role model.
