The president acts as the chief of party, the acknowledged leader of the political party that controls the executive branch. The president’s function as chief citizen is to work for and represent the public interest against the many different and competing private interest. The three formal qualifications necessary to become president are: be a natural born citizen of the United States, be at least 35 years of age, and have been fourteen years a resident within the United States. The 22nd Amendment made the unwritten custom limiting the presidential terms a part of the written Constitution; each President may now serve a maximum of two full terms, which is eight years, in office. I think the President is fairly compensated because he receives a lot of benefits like a house to live in, transportation, etc. I believe he receives enough money.
