This essay is going to argue about diabetes and many different points I will discussed in this paper are facts, statistics, type 1 & 2 diabetes, testing and the causes. I thought of doing a paper on diabetes because I think people should know what it is and how we can learn from it. In this essay I am going to explain reasons of diabetes. This essay will give knowledge and information what diabetes is and how serious it really is. People can die from diabetes in many different ways if they don’t take care of them self right. There are a lot of agreement about diabetes because of the compilations in involves. The reason why is pick this topic is because my mom and my 12 year cousin has diabetes. I see it every time with mom and see how much she struggles with it. My cousin had Juvenile diabetes since she was two years old and now she wears an insulin pump to give her insulin after she checks her sugar. All these different things become into play involving Diabetes.
Diabetes is disease in which the body dose not produces the proper use of insulin. The insulin is a hormone that needs to convert into sugar that we need in daily life. There are 23.6 million children and adult in United States who have diabetes. There’s two ways to determine if they have diabetes. First, one is fasting plasma glucose test (FPG) and if glucose level is higher then 126 or higher they have diabetes. Second, is Oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) and if glucose is higher then 200mg/dl or higher they have diabetes. We get diabetes by obesity and lack of exercise. Diabetes continues to be a mystery; diabetes is the fifth deadliest disease in United States. (American Diabetes Association)
Facts on diabetes have come a long time way. Among adults they are diagnosed with diabetes (Type 1 & 2) 14% take insulin only, 13% take both insulin and medicine, and 57% take oral medicine. Type 1 diabetes strikes children and young adults can occur at any age. Adults they have type 1 for 5% to 10 %...
