Would you be willing to ingest toxic chemicals for the sake of weight loss? If not, then diet soda should be something that you should strongly consider permanently removing from your diet. Not only is the popular beverage laced with unnatural chemicals, but is also an unhealthy alternative that can lead to many health related issues and concerns.
Although often viewed as a healthy alternative to high calorie, high sugar soft drinks, the consumption of diet soda has many health risks that people should consider. While many individuals turn to artificially sweetened drinks as a way control or maintain their weight, evidence suggests that it can be quite hazardous to the body. Therefore, it is imperative to acknowledge its negative impact on one’s health and wellness. In addition, all must be made aware of the risks associated with daily consumption of such toxic soft drinks and how its consistent use ultimately promotes a slow and medically complicated death sentence.
Currently, the United States is the leading country in terms of obesity. According to a study published by The Lancet, approximately 33 percent of the American adult population is significantly overweight. Furthermore, it is not only adults that bear the burden of expanded waistlines, but also children. In fact, obesity has been identified as one of the biggest health and wellness issues facing our nation today (Khan). While diet soda continues to be a popular choice for many, research suggests it is not as healthy as some may believe.
Research indicates that diet drinks may be the contributing factor to many health problems we see today.
