The time I met my Father Samantha Barth
The thing in my life that has changed and affected me and another person was my experience of meeting my father. I grew up not knowing who my father was, it was very hard and stressful, I tried to ask my mother to find him but she just said to wait until I was ready, so I did. I waited until I was eighteen and started my journey, I looked on the BOP and found my father, with the only information I knew of him , which was his name and that he was In prison, not a lot of information but I found the right guy. So I wrote his attorney and found out a little more about my father, and then wrote the hardest letter ever, and was just left to wait. Two months passed after I wrote him and no sign of anything, I was worried and scared that he did get it and just did not want anything to do with me.
One day after I had kind of given up, here shows up a letter from a Steven Barth, my heart sank to the floor, it was the moment I have waited for all my life, to be able to look my father in the eyes. I carefully read the letter and was jumping for joy immediately. After that I wrote him back and we did this for about a month, it was amazing to find out so much information that I had never known about my family and my history and to ask questions that I did not think I would ever be able to ask, and I finally was able to!
We continued writing for a long time until I started getting unknown callers and weren’t answering them but after I got about 10 unknown calls I figured someone was trying to get a hold of me, so I finally picked up one day. It turned out to be my father. I was so happy to finally be able to hear his voice, to be able to catch up and let him know and help me know that we actually found each other. So then I started getting a phone call once a month from him and it lasted 15 minutes each time, and that doesn’t give you a lot of time to catch up the 17...
