Sling blade book review
Billy bob Thornton who we also know from “dead man” wrote, directed, and stared in “sling blade”. A interesting, touching story of mentally retarded guy named (Karl) played by Thornton who has been locked up in a mental institution for 25 years after killing his mom and her boyfriend (Jessie). In the movie Karl states that he killed the moms boyfriend because he was hitting her, but then killed his mom because she was nagging him saying “saying why did you kill Jessie” he was confused as to why she was on his side after he was beating her this made him even more mad so he killed her too. Karl was released from the mental institution or as he called it “the nervous hospital” into his home town because they felt he learned his lesson and was cured.
He was finally free on his journey around town he noticed a young boy named frank (Lucas black) struggling with heavy bags of laundry as he offered to help carry them they instantly became friends. Karl finally meets the boys mom Linda (Natalie Canerday) a nice sweet lady who felt bad for Karl and although a little reluctant offered Karl to stay with them in his own little spot in the garage.
During his stay he realized why the boy had so much hate in his heart for his moms boyfriend Doyle a...
