DO WHAT YOU'RE GOOD AT
By: Phong Dang

Okay, hi my name is Phong and I am here to officially apologize to you all. I'm not going to do a monologue. I can't do this much further. I mean when I was walking out on stage what were you wondering? What crazy character is he going to do next? What's he going to do this time? It's funny because this is what I've only been known to do. I've been known to come up here and basically lie to people. I'm just on big lie. Like last time, I mean did you really think my hand was stuck to my head? Really? And no I'm not a soccer mother with a kid name Sarah. In my acting career I've had my fair share of success, who can forget my breakout role of "Waiter" in the school's production of "The Pajama Game" where I delivered the now famous line, "Yes ma'am". Everyone's got dreams, and mine isn't acting anymore. Ma'am what is your dream? That's great. You'll never make it through the first round because you're short and stumpy but that's great. Sir what is your dream? Really? I am so sorry ma'am, but that mustache. Look the point is I don't want to do this anymore. I want to pursue my real dreams, my dreams of becoming a professional basketball player. I've always wanted to be out on the grassy fields, kicking the puck into the hoop, in the in zone, scoring a home run. I don't know anything about theatre or acting. I don't know anything about the technical aspects of how to hook up lights or work the soundboard. And I most definitely don't know how to make people feel good and laugh. So no, I'm not going to be performing a monologue today, and that's that.
Oh wait.
