This is because the gods have a higher hand of power and they would make Antigone pay the penalty for violating these laws. For example, Antigone is aware that she will be put to dead even if her brother was not buried. During Antigone's trial, she is not worried about dying. In fact, she says, “If I die before my time, I say this is the advantage anyone who lives a life of sorrow as I do. they not count it as a blessing to die? Therefore, there is no pain for me in meeting this fate, whereas if I were to endure that one born from a mother die unburied. That would cause me pain.” (Page 29) This shows that she does not like her life and wants to die. This is because it would cause more pain to live with the fact that her brother is not buried.
Antigone dies with honor and with courage. For example Antigone has a lot of courage because she knows that she will die. The chorus says, “She's clearly a fierce daughter of a fierce father she doesn't know to bend with the wind.” (Page 30) This shows that she is a free spirit that always does something different. This is because Antigone does what she knows is right. For example, she dies with honor, because she is not afraid to do something. This Show that she will fight for what she wants because when she has her mind set to something that she believes in, she will not stop until it is done.
As a result, Antigone is truly a tragic hero, because she goes against the humans laws to follow the god’s laws because that is what she trusts the most. She also shows a lot of confidence to be able to do what she thinks is right.
