BLOOD BROTHERS PERSONAL RESPONSE The play ‘Blood Brothers’ was very entertaining as they’re performance produced many different emotions towards the audience. The made me laugh, sad and i also shared many surprised; shocking moments. Though some areas of the play made me fall asleep, overall the play was fantastic. The scenes I was really open-eyed at were the scenes when Mickey and Eddie had grown up, towards the end and any setting Ms Johnstone appeared. This is because Mickey and Eddie were portrayed and performed brilliantly when they were younger but I had deeper meaning of the characterswhen they matured. Also Ms Johnstone was played magnificently; she could not have done a better job as her role was played to every extent to keep the audience glued to the stage. The play was about a woman who gave one of her twins away and kept the other, having to live with the constant guilt. The play was saying the more you lie the more it eats you up inside. Your sins always follow you as you cannot hide from the truth, by the way the narrator/conscience always appeared and repeating himself it shows lies can or will damage and do a lot of harm. The play also tries to convey that sin itself is always on your case; no easy way out until your slate it wiped clean as the narrator kept singing ‘the devil got your number’ this narrows it down to the devil always going to be with you until you do the right thing. She came on stage with enormous amount of energy and massive lungs as she gave 100% to sing her story so well it almost seemed devastating. Mrs Lyons wasn’t so convincing matter of fact I would have not noticed her if I didn’tknow the lines, she was dull and boring which is not a Mrs Lyons character who is psychotic and paranoid. You notice it is her as she was...
