Wanderlust Humanitarian
Throughout my whole existence I have always had an enduring passion to help people
whilst suffering from a bad case of wanderlust. My burning desire to travel the world has
always come from being in the same city my whole life, from birth and now to graduation.
Although the City of Stockton will forever be my home, there’s a world out there just waiting
to be explored, the only globe trotting I’ve done is from little Stockton to the big windy City of
Chicago. So what better way to cure my raging case of wanderlust and my yearning passion to
help others in need? Is to become an International Aid Worker. People who work for aid
organizations like USAID and the Peace Corps work to improve the health, economic and
education of people living in developing nations. International aid workers help countries that
are struggling from economic crises or recovering from natural disasters. Aid workers can help
farm crops in Combodia, organize relief convoys to combat areas in Afghanistan, or Build
Villages in South Africa. I believe in helping where help is needed, whether it is needed by an
individual, an organization, an environmental project, or an entire community, not only will I
be able to explore and travel to far away places with the passion to serve, to learn, to
understand, to inspire, and to be inspired by other cultures with greater mutual respect and
understanding but also with the gratification of helping those in need. A career in the
humanitarian sector can be as challenging as it is rewarding, but for many individuals hoping to
work with a humanitarian agency, just getting
that crucial first job is a huge challenge in itself but with both my passion to travel and help, I’ll
never work a day in my life. ...
