Two kinds

“My mother believed you could be anything you wanted to be in America.”(pg.89)
This reminds me of the long lectures my mother has with me about life. She always says you can be anything you want to be in life. She would say that if you want to be something in life you have to apply yourself. That’s why I love my mother she always gives me the right direction.

“Play note right but it doesn’t sound good” (pg.93)
This quote reminds me of when I used to take drumming lessons. I always would have my lessons Mondays and Tuesdays at my teachers house Mr. Greg. I had played drums all my life but never had taken lessons. This was the first time I had ever been exposed to real music such as notes, and different drum sounds. The first time I had to read music I was horrible but as I progressed I got better and better


“Only ask you to be your best.”(pg.93)
This quote reminds me of when my mother tells me to always work hard and do my best in school. These lectures help me to get through days always remembering that the only thing my mom asks of me is to do my best, stay in school and to do my best. My mother always gives me good advice for my future and for my sake.

Maybe I had been nervous and the audience like old Chong had seen me go through the right motions and had not heard anything at all. (pg.96)

This statement reminds me of my first show with my band special edition. I had never been in front of so many people ready to listen and critique you; every beat that you played had to be perfect. As the night went on I started to get a little more comfortable after thirty minutes I was well on my way to having a great time. After the show I got lots of complements on my performance, ever since then I never had a nervous problem while performing at a show.
