Why I Wish To Attend St. Thomas University Deciding which college or university to attend to is one of the most important decisions a person has to fulfill in life because this choice has lifelong results. When I graduated from high school in the year 2007, I really did not know where to study afterwards. Offers from colleges and universities came, but none had what I was really looking for; none, that is, until my uncle told me about St. Thomas University. I choose St. Thomas University for the following reasons: I wanted a small student body instead of a large one, I desired a place close to home with the area of study that I was interested in, and lastly I wished to attend a private university not a public one. My first reason in choosing St. Thomas is the small body of students present. I have studied in places with both large and small student bodies. And I noticed that with a huge student population there is little attention or aid given to the individual. Also, it is a little uncomfortable because I am not accustomed to a large student body. In schools with a smaller student body, it is easier for the teachers and students to give or obtain the help necessary. I want to receive that attention for the individual which is acquired with a smaller student body. St. Thomas has that personal attention to the student. I have received all the required information concerning the university, my courses, and classes. I have made phone calls and visits, and the friendliness and patience is obvious on the people working there. Attending a place close to home is my second reason for preferring St. Thomas University. Becoming a veterinarian or a veterinarian technician is my dream. I love animals and enjoy science. I planned to go to the Bel-Rea Institute in Denver, Colorado for my 3 to 4 year training.
