Effective Parenting
Most of us share the belief that education must include parents. We know that parents are children's first and most important teachers, and yet they seldom receive the training and support that allow them to be aware of the importance of their parenting actions, stay aware of children's needs, cope with the challenges of child rearing, and become aware of the beauty of their own inner resources. I believe three ways to effective parenting are; well parenting skills, tolerance, and being a role model. Learn how to listen and interact with your child.
I think all parents have a dream of what they would like to be with their children as well as what they would like their children to be like. I am sure we could all cite many factors that lead to less than optimal parenting; the largest percentage of less than optimal parenting is simply a lack of awareness of the needs of children and ignorance of good parenting practices. Many parents have difficulty coping with the stresses of this world. Some inflict harm because of their own emotional functioning often a reflection of their own history of abuse. There are so many things in the world that people do to help children. Many people volunteer to help children and some decide to raise a child. Out of all the things to do raising a child is most difficult, and also very rewarding. When an individual chooses to be a parent, he or she should have four traits: a positive lifestyle, stability, tolerance, and patience. Having these traits helps on the long road of effective parenting. When an individual has a positive lifestyle, their child will look up to their parent. A positive lifestyle is good for a child because a parent is considered a role model. This means parents should have a job, a car, a place to live, not abuse drugs or alcohol, and speak using manners.
