Emotions in Interpersonal Communications
When being involved in the Human Service field, we approach situations using interpersonal communication. This communication involved the client and the worker. There are many different types of relationships that develop between the worker and the clients and they are all different because not every one person is the same. Communication between each client is always going to be different compared to other clients. Communication is important between a worker and the client because it creates a good relationship and will help determine how their relationship is going to grow and how it is going to work. Using interpersonal communication can help influence the emotional parts of the conversation. Emotions are going to direct the conversation between the worker and the client.
When using interpersonal communication in conversations, it is important to notice the emotions that are being expressed from the client. Understanding and connecting to the client emotionally will help one to better understand what they are saying and how they are feeling. Emotions create a strong impact on interpersonal communication. If one is not devoted to helping a client, this will provide a disadvantage in this particular field because you are not using your social abilities to help a client.
Emotions are very important when talking about interpersonal communication within a relationship. When communication is not expressed clearly and also understood people can begin to have mixed feelings and this and cause my problems in different circumstances. Emotions relate to the way someone feels and how one can react to being told what to do in a non-verbal situation. The way you hold yourself, your eye contact, your posture, if you cry or even laugh, is very important when dealing with a client because non-verbal communication...
