As a homeowner we should all be competent in conserving energy. Conserving energy is not only a good way to save money but is good for the environment as well. A good portion of the energy we use is from sources such as gas or oil which are used to heat many homes. Gas and oil are resources which are harmful to the environment and are non renewable energy resources. Conserving energy is important to make sure we can fulfill the needs of our daily lives.

There are two types of energy sources which are known as renewable and non renewable energy sources. Non renewable energy resources are things such as oil products which we will only have until the supply runs out. This means it is non renewable because we cannot create anymore and when it is gone it is gone. Renewable energy resources are sources such as solar power, wind power, and hydropower. These energy sources we can create over and over without depleting the Earths supply. These energy sources are good for the environment and can make our lives efficient without worrying about running out of energy.

Many people have energy problems that they do not even know about. Can you fix it, yes you can! There are many ways for people to conserve energy around their own homes. One method to conserve energy and help the environment is often taken for granted. That’s right folks the daily commute. The morning drive to drop the kids off, go for breakfast, and then head on in to the office. Well this can be harmful to the environment. How, you may ask? Well automobiles use a non renewable resource which emits harmful toxins or pollutants into the environment. A simple solution could be to carpool or take a bus. Many cities are encouraging people to take public transportation to help preserve the ozone layer. Another good way to help the environment, save money, and energy is to use recycled goods.
