Essential Questions:
• What external factors affect the development of one’s identity? How do we define who we are?
• How do these factors cause conflict between the individual and his or her environment?
• What can you learn about yourself by studying the lives of others?
• In a culture where we are bombarded with other people trying to define us, how do we make decisions for ourselves?
• What is power? What influence does it have on society?
• Power can be physical, intellectual, economical, or emotional. How is power a driving force? What kinds of power are there? How is power used?
