Growth and profitability are two goals that are common amongst organizations. Having an idea of what factors drives the economy potentially secures or improve and organizations position in the future. Environmental Scanning is said to be useful when determining what external and internal factors impact and organization. The high-tech system is widespread among large business, such as fortune 500 companies, hospitals, and higher education companies. Research shows that facilities and or organizations surpass their competitors who choose not to use the system. This paper will provide an example of how an environmental scan has contributed to the success of Bay front Medical Center and Marshall County Private Correctional Facility.
Environmental Scanning is the process of gathering large amounts of information to examine the change in environment. The process includes information for the principle of planning, forecasting that happens externally and/or internally of the organization. The focus is to study how internal and external factors directly affect services and/or products offer today and in the futures. Environmental scanning process uses an array of tools and methods to collect examine and integrate data that may affect the institution in the future.
Marshall County Correctional facilities and have found scanning systems are very useful in their efforts to control unruly behavior within the environment. Most conflicts in correctional institute’s results from an array of issues include crowding, redundancy, lack of security, inadequate staffing, and staff education ill designed and poorly maintained facilities, insufficient programming and young, volatile offender populations crowding, idleness, security problems.
