I’m starting to see stars, I’m doing everything I can to keep standing, and I can only hear myself breathing. He caught me that one time, but I was saved by the bell. It’s the fourth round and I still have six to go, I need to relax, breathe, and get some water. Ding ding ding, the bell rang to start the fourth round, I stepped in eagerly, did what I had to do and won the fight. I love to box and to me life is exactly like it. Life is like the rounds, and sometimes in life you just need to step back and take a break. Some days you wake up and feel great like your about to fight someone who hasn’t won a match yet, and other days it feels like Mike Tyson is waiting for you. I train my body in certain ways to get ready for what happens in the ring just like I train my mind and body for what happens in life. You can easily get hit unexpectedly in the ring and in life. When I say hit in life I don’t really mean an actual hit, I mean anything that could put you down. I was almost down for the count when my Dad passed over the summer, I had to get up though because if not then I would lose. I’m not the person to lose, ever. I get real competitive and will do anything to win, and if I do lose than I’ll do anything I can to get better. My house is like my corner, my family are my corner men, and school is my gym. Sparring is like studying, so when I’m ready I can knock out my tests and quizzes. I like to think I’m just as smart as I am athletic, I might not be ready for professional boxing but I know I am ready for college.
I’m really looking forward to college because not only does it set up the rest of my life, but I finally get to get away. I still have my whole life ahead of me, I want to do what I can to make the best out of it. I expect myself to do great in college and make a lot of new friends while I’m there. I remember my grandparents telling me about college and how they couldn’t wait until I was there, I want to make them and my father proud along with the...
