If and when a non-Christian friend asks me what Christianity is all about, I would begin telling them whom Jesus Christ is and what He has done not only for me, but also for everyone. Christianity is about believing in Jesus Christ, and having a personal relationship each and every day with Him. Furthermore, that each person must accept Jesus Christ into there hearts as personal Lord and Savior and believe that Christ rose from the dead, and they will become saved. (Ro 10:9)
Salvation comes hand-in-hand with Christianity because in order to be a Christian, one must be saved. When you become saved, the Holy Spirit begins to dwell within you. Now, you are never alone and have a comforter, someone within you who lead and guides. The Holy Spirit will never leave you and will always protect you until the day you die and meet Jesus.
Being a Christian is being “Christ-like” meaning that your character and actions should be that of Christ himself. So, in all your ways you are salt and light of the earth, and an example of all those around who see you. You are a reflection of Jesus and all the goodness He represents is now something you are responsible for attaining. Being a Christian is loving all people, forgiving all people, helping all people, caring for all people, its doing what is best always and when doing your best, its doing the right thing at the right time. Christianity is about seeking first the kingdom of God; it never takes, but always gives. Christianity is love, and love is God.
