Ethical dilemma

Ethical dilemma

1.Have you ever been confronted with an ethical dilemma? If so, describe it (you may disguise the name of the company or organization) briefly and explain:
It happened during my first internship in a bank’s credit department. As an intern, I had to prepare the documents for the meetings for my director and contacted the clients for further information. However, my colleague, who was the daughter of a higher manager was later appointed to replace me at the meeting I was supposed to attend. Moreover, she ignored the discipline and had no punctuality. Everytime the director was away for the meeting, she treated herself days off. And when she reported to him, she claimed everything as her work. Gradually, the director knew but did nothing to react. And that colleague still received the incentives and rights as other hard-working staffs. Sometimes, I could sense clearly the differences in the way she treated to both of us and obviously, felt unfair. I asked myself why I had to be hard-working and loyal to the person who didn't appreciate what I did to them. But in our system, it was hard to speak out the obvious facts those everybody knew that they existed because later on, we would be encouraged to learn how to accept it. Some said I must tell something and make changes happen, others advised to accept the fact and to move on since there was no fair in politics. Finally I kept it to myself but I moved to the new division and that was the right thing to do. To be honest, I don’t know whether I succeed in solving it or, it seems like I got rid of the difficult situation, but until now, talking about this story again still reminds me of the bad days!
