Formal Organizations have evolved over the century due to the new advances in technology, and politics. Changes in organizations are inevitable whether the forces are inside or outside of the business. The progress is shifting the customer’s desires. Changes need to be acknowledged, accepted, and put in operation. Years ago, organizations did not have the types of technologies we have today, fast computers and medical equipment. Everything is changing, from jobs, homes, and the way people are living.
Our ancestors have worked in formal organizations that practice bureaucracy. Bureaucratic organizations have been used to complete some of the major projects today. Times are changing and so are the methods that were used at one time. Hard work and organizations are still much appreciated, in different forms. Traditions of work have been passed through generations are not being passed through generations anymore; there is different ways to do things today. The world is finding more efficient ways to do things now.
Since the early 1900’s formal organizations have been powered by tradition and bureaucracy. This type of organizational structure is called conventional bureaucracy (Macionis, 2006). Conventional bureaucracy shows a clear chain of command among employees.
