1st Quadrant open area or the “Arena”.
This area actually talks about emotions, feelings, reactions, attitudes, skills, education, needs, worries that are known to me and I decide to share them with people I socialize, with my family and with friends. This window represents the degree of self-disclosure in a relationship. The also called “Arena” talks about the progressive disclosure of our characteristics, and it depends from who I am interacting with. So it gets bigger with people who get to know you more and smaller with people you just met.
By revealing personal information to other people you actually encourage them to do the same thing. This is beneficial as it leads to a more stable relationship with individuals or groups.
When first meeting someone, he gets an idea about my appearance, how I look like, my hair color, my height. The first thing me and everyone shares with others are name and age, maybe what you do for living and where do you live. For example my class, what I first reveal was my name, my age; where am I from, and where do I live. But as the time goes on I reveal more about “who” I really am. To my group, the classmates we mostly worked together I started to open up as soon as we were bonding and spending time with each other. Moreover as I was feeling more confident I started behave easily, made a lot of jokes, and talked about my favorite music, my favorite movies, my favorite food etc. Getting deeper we started talking about ourselves and so some feelings were revealed. I get pissed off very easily, and I am an anxious person with a lot of stress. Moreover is very important to me things to be done in my way this means that sometimes I can be very stubborn. I am very social and I like talking and analyzing things. I also kind of like gossip and learn about other people personal life.
