Fall Choir Concert
On Monday November 1 my mom and I went to see my sister perform in her choir concert. The concert was in Temecula at a Catholic Church building. My mom and I arrived at the concert at 6:45 and it started at 7:00. We saw many people attend this concert because it was one of the biggest concerts they put up. As we walked inside, I saw many sacred and spiritual items because being inside a Catholic Church changes the mood of what is happening. The place was quiet and not as wild as a normal concert would be. The show was about to begin and everyone took their seat to see their child perform the songs.
There were two groups that performed that night. They were Chorale, and Chamber singers. Each group had at least three to four songs to sing and performed them beautifully. The first group was Chorale and they performed the songs called Dies Irae and The Angel. Dies Irae was written by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and it is an Italian piece. Each performer whore long black dresses and by wearing them it gave a dark and sad feeling to the room. They sang in rounds, one part of the group would sing, then another then so on. The crowd’s reaction was silent because all they wanted to do was hear the choir performers sing the song. We were intrigued of what we were listening to. The choir sang in piano and falso, and the group did crescendos and decrescendos, which gave the piece of music more meaning and got the crowd’s attention more.
The next group Women’s Ensemble did a similar piece but had a total different meaning behind it. The piece was called Dyby Byla Kosa Nabrosena; it was another Italian piece but, the mood of the music was smoothing happy and brought calmness to the crowd.
