Many things we as students use and enjoy have now become more expensive do to inflation. Due to the increase in the cost of many necessities and luxuries many more students are getting more after school jobs and many that already had them are working longer shifts. The morality of whether students should work long hours after school is very controversial and debatable. I think that an after school job is very beneficial to students. It builds character, instills life-long principles, benefits for future careers, and gives young workers a sense of freedom and independence.
Balancing the job and school work puts responsibilities on the student that will help them later in life. When given a responsibility to uphold early they become better prepared for the more demanding obligations they will face later in life. It helps build a character and mind set that they can better deal with life’s challenges and burdens. The extra character gained from the job experience creates the maturity needed in future life.
Many more employers now prefer a new employee to have previous experience or job. With having a job as a teenager it will look good on a resume for a more upscale career later in time. It will make the student work more qualified for future positions. An after school job will make the student stand out when applying for a new one in the future.
Another advantage of having an extra curricular job is it creates a sense or self worth and independence. When a person earns his or her own money they are less dependent on others and in this fashion create more responsibility also. Also, with the extra funds they are able to pay for many of their own necessities such as fuel and personal things. They are also able to enjoy many more luxuries. This creates a better sense of freedom.
Though the subject on whether after school work is beneficial or harmful, a strongly believe it is strictly favorable. It helps prepare students for the future, instills strong character...
