Media Politics john doe February 23, 2009 “Idiocracy” Movie Response The movie Idiocracy clearly shows how dumb people really are. This movie critiques how average Americans really are. It points out that overtime people have evolved into a very lazy being. This movie starts in the year 2005, then jumps to 2505, five hundred years later. What we know as America today was transformed into an overflowing land field, full of ignorant people. This movie is a tale of how low the intelligence of Americans is rising. In the future, everyone is so much slower than we are today, and they have no grasp of what is valuable in life! This movie made me think, why do I bother with being concerned with certain things in my life. Such as who’s dating who, or what styles of clothing are popular. In this movie when Not Sure became involved in the government, he made me realize that making a difference in others lives andhelping to improve the environment in which I live. Not Sure could have easily given up and said, “Why should I worry about this, it is of no importance to me, because I’m going back to the past!” However, he decided to use his brain and come up with the basic things that they needed to survive. He was a genius that everyone wanted advicefrom. He became the vice president, then the president. This really shows that it doesn’t matter who you are, you can make a difference being the person you are right now. No changes are needed in order to make an impact. You can be the person that you normally are. There are no standards that must be lived up too. This movie as a whole, should really wake Americans up to tell us that we need to see what we are doing and realize that it is going to have an effect on the future. We must make wise decisions with our time. One huge issue is that in the...
