There are a ton of children who have to grow up in a household without a father. Many children go through a lot from their fathers not being there. There is no question that children who grow up in fatherless homes have a much greater risk of major challenges in life than those who grow up with a father at home. Fathers are not only a menace to society they are a hurting many innocent children that have been brought into this world. Fatherlessness can lead to many problems in a household such as abuse, neglect, and behavioral problems.
Child abuse doesn't only happen in poor families or bad neighborhoods. It crosses all racial, economic, and cultural lines. Sometimes the families who seem to have it all from the outside are hiding a different story behind closed doors. Child abuse also occurs from the absence of their fathers. Some mothers tend to have hatred toward the father of their child and take it out on their children.
Children without a father present are more likely prone to neglect. There is several type of neglect physical, emotional, educational, and medical. Physical neglect involves the mother not providing the child with the right necessities such as food, clothing, or shelter. Educational neglect can be failure of enrolling the child at the mandatory age or not providing the proper education. Emotional neglect includes ignoring, rejecting or verbally assaulting them. Medical neglect is not providing them with appropriate health care. Therefore they will be more likely to suffer from depression and are at greater risk of committing suicide.
Children also become involved in the wrong things and with the wrong people which causes behavioral problems. This is more likely for young men they become involved in gangs and other criminal activity. Kids living in single parent homes have lower educational expectations and may become high school drop outs. Some children may achieve more having both parents at home.
