PASS YEAR 10 Event Management – Case Study Evaluation
Evaluate the structures and formats that are used in the Case Study. Recommend procedures to improve outcomes for participants, spectators and officials.
The structure of the event is good, but can be improved. The draw seems sketchy and could be presented better, maybe in a table format. It could be set out more clearly and be made to look more professional. The information on the draw itself is an alright idea but I think that the teams should all get a chance at playing against eachother. The idea doesn’t seem fair. Maybe a round robin competition would be best suited if you are trying to encourage girls to play soccer, but seeing as that idea may take longer than a day, the structure for the games isn’t too bad. By shortening each game by 5 minutes each we have enough time to fit in the 2 extra teams that also need to play, while also using the 3rd oval that’s not in use. In doing this, players can eat as they wish and you the facilities in their breaks. To also shorten the time, I will make the loser of the semi-final match between the winners of Pool 1 and 2 Second Place, the winner of loser of the seconds 3rd and 4th place etc. I would make the draw more like this if we were to add 2 more teams into the competition:
Competition Draw
Pool A – Oval 1 Pool B – Oval 2
Team A Team E
Team B Team F
Team C Team G
-------------------------------------------------
Team D Team H

In the event of double-booked fields from 10:00 to 11:00, the girls should have a rest and a break as well as recess from 10:00 to 10:30, and then resume...
