Homosexual Adoption

Homosexuality is a very controversial topic that is ahs been made a major issue around the world. Most religious groups frown upon this lifestyle due to its immoral nature and contrariness to their beliefs. Homosexuals on the other hand, claim that it is perfectly natural for them to be the way they are and have fought as a group for their acceptance, equality, and rights in society. Recently, in their fight for rights, homosexuals have taken legal issues regarding their partnerships to the court system. Same-sex marriages and homosexual couples adopting children are some of the major issues that have been specifically argued about in both positive and negative points of view. These issues have escalated the criticism that they have been receiving from society throughout the decades. As for myself, I actually disapprove of homosexuality because of my own morals and religious background. I would generally argue against homosexuality and their ability to adopt children but I do believe that there are some arguments that would support their apparent right to adopt children.
While reflecting on this issue I have come to believe that the children are to be considered before any decisions should be made regarding the legality and morality behind homosexual adoptions. The psychological well being of the children is a great factor when it comes to this type of delicate situation. The kids may grow up believing that homosexuality is the most natural form of sexuality and may grow up with that unnatural bias. Their social lives out of the home may also be greatly and negatively affected. Through my experiences I have found that even the slightest difference or irregularity in an individual’s physical appearance or lifestyle can result in endless teasing and countless demeaning jokes that can be hurtful and may lower one’s self-esteem.
